Nyne Sellers understands that with better access to resources and opportunities, students are more likely to thrive and become successful adults. Nyne has spent over 20 years serving youth and families in the Delaware and Philadelphia regions. She began her work with the Communities In Schools (CIS) network, teaching in programs that assisted over 6,000 youth and families. Nyne served as Vice President of Education and Workforce Development and Director/Principal, leading CIS local and national models. In 2019, Nyne was appointed President and CEO of Launch of Philadelphia, Inc. (formerly Communities in Schools of Philadelphia). After taking the helm of the 36-year-old organization, she pioneered new ways of doing business. Her leadership has moved Launch forward by forging connections between high-wealth and high-poverty communities. In less than five years, she improved financial stability for Launch by taking it from a deficit position in 2018 to $1,479,508 in net assets. This growth included adding new programs in the fields of violence prevention and innovative IT apprenticeships. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, a Master of Science in Human Services & Community Psychology from Springfield College in Springfield, MA, and a Master of Arts from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She also received a certificate in French Civilization from Sorbonne Universite in Paris, France, and is a certified Communities in Schools National Master Trainer. Nyne holds memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the National Staff Development Council. She resides in Philadelphia with her husband and four sons.

McArthur Laws holds the title of Chief Financial Officer for Launch Philadelphia. Having over 15 years of experience in non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia School District, McArthur understands the value and impacts that school programs bring to the youth and the difference it makes in their communities. Managing financial staff with payroll, financial planning, and forecasting, McArthur contributes to the backbone of this organization.
The Board provides oversight of our programs and the organization’s financial health. As dedicated volunteers, they are an essential part of our leadership driving success in Philadelphia, helping to responsibly raise funds and awareness.
