At Launch of Philadelphia, we believe teamwork is a skill that helps people succeed in school, work, and life. In our Out of School Time (OST) program, led by Ms. Gina and her team in North Philadelphia, students practice teamwork every day in a safe and supportive space. Here are five key lessons we focus on.

1. Communicate Clearly

Good teamwork starts with clear communication. Students learn to share their ideas, listen to others, and ask questions. When everyone understands each other, teams work better together.

2. Build Trust

Trust grows when people feel safe and respected. In our OST program, students are encouraged to support one another and keep their word. Trust helps teams feel stronger and more connected.

3. Collaborate Effectively

Working together means sharing responsibility and helping each other reach a goal. Our students learn that everyone’s voice matters and that teamwork leads to better results.

4. Keep Learning Together

Teams grow when they learn together. We promote curiosity and a willingness to try new things. Learning as a group helps students stay flexible and confident.

5. Celebrate Wins

Recognizing progress builds confidence. Whether big or small, celebrating wins reminds students that their effort matters and encourages them to keep going.

At Launch of Philadelphia, teamwork is about community, growth, and empowerment. By teaching these skills early, we help students build strong habits that will support them far beyond the classroom.
